How to Choose Black Friday E-Bike Deals: Folding for Commuting or Three Wheels for Cargo?

When shopping for an e-bike on Black Friday, it is easy to focus on the discount first. But what really determines whether a bike will work well long term is usually not how much you save, but whether it fits your daily riding and storage needs.

If you mainly commute, make short shopping trips, and often need to store the bike in a garage, apartment, or car trunk, a folding two-wheel e-bike will be more convenient. If you care more about stability when stopping, carrying cargo, and everyday shopping, a three-wheel e-bike works very differently.

Among Qronge’s Black Friday e-bike options, Mirage and Lava represent these two directions well. Mirage focuses more on folding, storage, and daily commuting, while Lava puts more emphasis on three-wheel stability, fat tires, and cargo capacity. The main decision on Black Friday is not which model has the bigger numbers, but which frame style better fits your everyday use.

How should you choose between Mirage and Lava?

Mirage | Commuting and Storage

If your daily use mainly includes commuting, shopping, and short rides around the neighborhood, or if you do not have much parking space at home, Mirage is the more straightforward choice.

It folds down to about 36"L × 21"W × 28"H. For apartments, offices, and garages with limited space, or for riders who often need to put an e-bike in a car, the folding design provides practical everyday value rather than being just another feature on the product page.

For riding, it uses a 1000W peak motor, 20 × 3.0-inch tires, and offers up to 70 miles of range. This setup is better suited to using an e-bike as an everyday transportation option for commuting, shopping, short neighborhood trips, and weekend recreational rides without adding the storage burden of a larger bike.

Mirage weighs about 66 lb. If the bike often needs to be pushed, moved, loaded into a car, or stored at a home without a dedicated garage, that is also worth considering instead of comparing motor power alone.

Lava | Stability and Cargo

If you care more about low-speed stability, carrying groceries or other items, or not having to constantly balance on two wheels when stopping and starting, Lava’s three-wheel design better fits those needs.

Lava uses 20" × 4.0" fat tires and a 1200W peak motor, with up to 75 miles of range. Compared with a standard two-wheel e-bike, the main difference is not simply more power, but the added support of a third wheel and an overall design that is better suited to carrying cargo.

It also provides more cargo space, making it more practical for grocery runs, carrying everyday items, or riders who need greater carrying capacity. However, the three-wheel design also makes the bike wider and heavier, requiring more parking and storage space. Lava weighs about 108 lb, so if the bike often needs to be carried upstairs, loaded into a car, or moved frequently, Mirage may be more convenient.
